Middle School Art - Turkey in Disguise Drawing

If turkeys could think and behave like us humans they assuredly would not be thankful for the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday. For a fun pre-Thanksgiving project, students in Middle School Art imagined how a turkey might be able to keep from becoming a Thanksgiving main course and drew a "Turkey in Disguise". HS Art 1 - Value Scale Tape Paintings

Students in Art 1 have also been looking at Value Scales in their study of the Elements of Art. Their last project created different values using pencil. This project created different values using acrylic paint on canvas board. First they created an interesting design with painter's tape on their canvas board and then were supposed to paint with lighter and darker values of one color. Afterwards, they removed the tape which caused a neat effect. Enjoy looking at their masterpieces!
