Middle School Art - Emphasis and Altered Proportion/Scale

Our latest project in Middle School Art took a look at Emphasis and Altered Proportion and Scale which are two more of the Principles of Design. Students created a work of art with at least one thing in their composition having altered proportion or scale (larger or smaller than normal).

HS Art 1 - 4th Quarter Sketchbook Entries

Students in Art Classes had at least three sketchbook entries due at the end of the 4th grading period. I enjoy seeing what they like to work on in their free time. I also allow entries to be other forms of creativity (photography, building models, crocheting, etc. ) Following are selections from what they turned in. Enjoy seeing their creations below!

HS Art 1 - Printmaking

Students in Art 1 enjoyed creating their own printmaking stamps by carving linoleum mounted on wood. After learning about different kinds of printmaking and terminology they each designed their own stamp and created several ink impressions. They then chose their best 3 or 4 and mounted them on a larger piece of colored background paper.

Enjoy seeing their prints!
