HS Art 1 - Quarter 1 Sketchbooks

Each quarter students in art classes work on sketchbook entries if they finish their main art projects early or when they have free time at home. Five entries are due at the end of the grading period. Each student and I chose a couple of their entries to share with you all. Enjoy!

HS Art II & III - Personal Voice Collage

By Madelyn K.

Students in the High School Art II & III class recently completed their first major project for the school year, Personal Voice Collages. We learned about Romare Bearden, an award winning African American artist who also liked to create art using collage. Students then did some brainstorming and created a mixed media collage depicting something about themselves. Enjoy their amazing masterpieces!

HS Art 1 - Pen and Ink Still Life Drawings

By Katy M.

Students in Art 1 Classes are working on projects the semester based on the Elements of Art and Principles of Design. The first Art Element we looked at was Line. Students learned some of the shading techniques using lines which are especially useful when working with pen and ink. They got to create a still life drawing and use some of those shading techniques. Enjoy their masterpieces!
