HS Art 1 - Value Scale Study with Pencil

High School Art 1 Students have been looking at the Art Element of Value. They just completed a Value Scale Study using repeated and layered shapes with the shapes "on top" being lighter in value and the shapes "underneath" having darker values. They used pencil for shading and some used black paint or marker for the negative space around the shapes. Enjoy their Value Scales!

HS Art II & III - Quarter 1 Sketchbooks

Each quarter students in art classes work on sketchbook entries if they finish their main art projects early or when they have free time at home. Five entries are due at the end of the grading period. Some students also created some 3D art of their own at home which also counted as credit. HS Art II & III - Parody in Art

 

Students in High School Art II & III, recently completed a project based on parody in art. First we learned the background story of the most parodied artwork in the world, Grant Wood's "American Gothic". For their project, our amazing students selected a famous work of art and created their own holiday themed parody of it. I was so so impressed with how much they got into this assignment.
