HS Art 1 - Two Point Linear Perspective Drawings

By Kyler M.

Students in Art 1 have been doing a focus on drawing this semester. This assignment brought us to continuing our study on linear perspective and how to create the illusion of depth and space on a flat piece of paper or canvas. You will notice how things in the foreground appear closer and then recede or diminish into the background. You may also notice that they seem to diminish towards two different points. These are called vanishing points. In linear perspective you can draw with one, two, three, or even four vanishing points. However the more you use, the more complicated it becomes to draw. This project used two vanishing points. I hope you enjoy what our Art 1 students drew with perspective. (Click on each photo to see more closely.)
