Students in Art 1 just completed a project based on the Art Element of Color, and one of the Principles of Design, Balance. Their artwork had to feature a repeated design or drawing arranged with symmetrical balance. Each section then was painted with a different color scheme from the other sections using acrylic paint. One had to be Monochromatic (different shades of one color). One featured either Cool or Warm colors. A third had to be different shades of Analogous colors (any three next to each other on the color wheel) and the last section was done in different shades of one of the Complementary Color Pairs (Reds/Greens or Blues/Oranges or Yellows/Purples). It's fun to see what they came up with. This was a fairly tedious and time consuming project. Proud of their hard work!.
