Students in Art II and III have been learning about Pablo Picasso and cubism, a type of abstract art. After looking at some examples of his works they each drew a "broken" still life and filled each area in with different media like pencil, acrylics, pen and ink, colored pencils, newspaper, maps, sheet music, or dictionary pages, etc. to create their own abstract work of art. Enjoy seeing their masterpieces!

I used lots of bright colors in my artwork. I used old maps, dictionary pages, markers, water colors, and color pencils to color and cover the paper. I have never done this style of art before so it widened my view of all the different types of art.

I chose to draw this view because it looked really cool. I used the newspaper in all different sections so they did not touch each other.

For this mixed media still life, I decided to use a lot of bright color to highlight the features of the objects, as well as some papers to contrast the saturation.

Something about me is that I love bright colors and interesting patterns. I tried to use different colors and matching the colors in each portion. I used many different types of art media such as water colors, markers, and colored pencils and I love the finished project.

I really enjoyed experimenting with different colors and art media. I don't often use colored pencils and markers but it was fun. I want to use them more in the future.

Each box I made represented a different style of art except paint. I think this project shows all the styles we have learned through the year.

I was inspired to create this because I enjoy still-life. My favorite part was seeing the colored pencil/collage sections come together and the gouache.

For this piece of art, I thought it would be cool to make the different sections seem mixed up and chaotic, but tie it together with more muted colors and tones. I had lots of fun with this project and it definitely helped me improve my object-drawing abilities.

I chose to use different music sheets and dictionary pages to add texture and traced some of the items in pen while adding color to others to make them stand out.

I really like this project and I especially liked my watercolor flowers.

I decided to do it the way I did it cause I thought the colors would complement each other and look good.

In the mixed media still life project I used different shading and coloring methods. Some of the shading techniques I used were cross hatching and just shading in shadows. For coloring I did monochromatic and I used colored pencils and markers.
