HS Advanced Art - Chihuly Inspired Faux Glass Bowls

In High School Advanced Art class we had fun learning about Dale Chihuly, an extraordinary modern glass artist. Since we can't engage in real glass blowing at school we created faux glass bowls inspired by the organic and colorful glass bowls by Chihuly. Students painted heavy weight craft plastic with enamel paints and then used embossing hot air "guns" to soften and reshape our flat plastic sheet into an organic bowl shape. It was a lot of fun!
