HS Advanced Art - Fauvism

By Tori P.

In High School Advanced Art, students learned about the artist Henri Matisse and his style of art called Fauvism. Fauvism is an interesting art form where "color is separated from its descriptive, representational purpose and allowing it to exist on the canvas as an independent element." Students were challenged to create a drawing or painting in the Fauvism style. Aren't they amazing? (Click on each photo to see more clearly.)

MS Art - Bible Illustrations/Calligraphy

By JT Y.

We've been enjoying learning about the Armor of God in Middle School Art and doing art projects inspired by each piece of the Armor. This last Armor of God project was on the Sword of the Spirit, the Word of God. We learned about how powerful words are, especially God's Words and how His living Word is also Jesus! In fact, every piece of the Armor is fulfilled in Jesus! He is our covering. No wonder the Bible says to "clothe ourselves with Christ" and "abide in Him"! He is our Salvation (Helmet). He is our Righteousness (Breastplate). He is The Truth (Belt). He is our Prince of Peace (Shoes). He is our Faithful Shield! And He is The Word of God who came in the flesh and is still living and active and interceding for us at the right hand of the Father.

Enjoy looking at our Middle Schoolers' art projects inspired by the Word of God. Some created illustrations of a favorite Bible story and some did a nice calligraphy of a Bible verse. (Click on each photo to see more clearly.)

MS Art - Heart Art

By Jaxon F.

After learning about the Breastplate of Righteousness and how it covers our hearts, Middle School Art, students created a 3-D heart art project using wood, nails, and colored yarn.  They give me a happy heart! (Click on each photo to see more clearly.)
