Middle School Art students recently learned some awesome things about
the Helmet of Salvation!
- The Helmet covers most of our gateways (eyes, ears, nose, mouth) and those gateways are the doors into our minds.
"Lift up your heads, O gates, and be lifted up, O ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in! Who is this King of glory? The Lord strong and mighty, the Lord mighty in battle." Psalm 24:7-8
- Much of what we war against is in our own thoughts.
"Therefore, prepare your minds for action..." 1 Peter 1:13
"...we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ." 2 Corinthians 10:5
"Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good reputation, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things." Philippians 4:8
"O GOD, the Lord, the strength of my salvation,
You have covered by head in the day of battle." Psalm 140:7
- Hats can be a statement of our identity.
As Christians we take on the identity of Christ.
Students learned some of who we are in Christ.
So since we were talking so much about the Hat of hats, students got to decorate their own hat for our art project. Hats off to them for doing such a great job!
